according to Dhaka: Bangladesh police Sunday arrested national cricketer Arafat Sunny for allegedly breaching strict internet laws after his girlfriend accused him of uploading sensitive photos on social media.
He was suspended from international matches during the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 for an illegal bowling action.
“She said Sunny opened up a fake Facebook account of hers and posted their personal photos, which she found offensive and defamatory,” he told AFP.
Sunny is the third national team cricketer to have been arrested in recent years, after pacemen Rubel Hossain and Shahadat Hossain.
“We have arrested him and sent him to the court, seeking to take him into custody for five days for questioning.”

According to the certificate, marriage registrar (Kazi) Anwar Hossain registered the marriage of Sunny and Nasrin but it was found that there is no marriage registrar of such name in the area.

Police did not seek a further remand while defence counsels pleaded for bail, which was denied and Sunny was ordered to prison.
Police arrested Sunny on Sunday after the 21-year-old woman filed the case on Jan 5 at the the Mohammadpur Police Station in Dhaka.
Following Sunny’s arrest, the woman filed another case on Monday accusing him of demanding dowry and physical assault.
There is another case against him over a dowry, which is also false,” said Sunny’s defence counsel Jewel Ahmed.
The spinner, who had played for the national team, stands accused of offensive posts containing pictures of the woman on social media.
