No one wants to hear about a great team that got along well, and only a few people want to hear about a bad team that was at each other’s throats.
All in all, this is another strong entry into the MLB Network Presents series and it’s one of those stories that is just made for an hour-long documentary – a juggernaut on the field with significant issues off the field.
There’s another great story about an angry Reds fan threatening to shoot Gene Tenace during the 1972 World Series, somehow managing to bring a loaded fun into the stadium.

Right on cue, MLB Network has the perfect way for us to get in the right frame of mind — The Swingin’ A’s, a documentary about the great Oakland dynasty of the 1970s.
The network sent me a screener of the documentary, and I will vouch that it’s worth an hour of your time.
I recommend you give this a watch, and if you’re not available tonight then DVR it and watch it later.
My favorite part of watching this doc was thinking about all the parallels between those ‘70s teams and today’s organization.

Vida Blue and known Oakland Athletics’ fan and MLB Network host Matt Vagersarian held a question and answer session after the conclusion of the documentary.
The A’s of the 1970’s were the Bay Area’s first true dynasty and tonight MLB Network will air a documentary on the crazy antics that went on behind the scenes during the time that the sometimes forgotten dynasty ruled the baseball world.
Many people don’t remember the subjects of the new documentary the “Swingin’ A’s.” The Oakland Athletics won three straight World Series Championships from 1972 through 1974.
