Cricketer Sunny denied bail, sent to jail according to : thedailystar

After rejecting both the remand and bail prayers, a Dhaka court today sent Bangladesh spinner Arafat Sunny to jail in connection with the case filed for torturing a 23-year-old woman, who claimed to be Sunny’s wife.

Sub Inspector of Mohammadpur Police Station Masudur Rahman, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced him before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansari passed the order after Sunny was produced before the court in the case filed on February 2 by Nasrin Sultana under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

as mentioned in A Dhaka court on Sunday sent national cricketer Arafat Sunny to jail in a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, reports news agency UNB.
The woman, Nasrin Sultana, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Women Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Court-4.
On 1 February, a case was filed against Sunny and his mother Nargis Akter under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act by a woman who claims to be his wife.
Sunny was taken on remand in separate cases filed against him.
Besides, two more cases were filed against Arafat Sunny and his mother on charge of demanding Tk 20 lakh as dowry and under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act on 23 January and 22 January respectively.

as mentioned in A Dhaka court yesterday sent cricketer Arafat Sunny to jail after rejecting both the petitions for remand and bail in a case filed for torturing a 23-year-old woman, who claimed to be Sunny’s wife.
Sunny was arrested on January 22 and was remanded for a day in the case filed under the ICT Act.
Earlier, Nasrin filed two other cases against Sunny, one for threatening her online and another for demanding dowry.
In her complaint, Nasrin alleged that Sunny as per direction of his mother demanded Tk 20 lakh as dowry six months after Nasrin and Sunny got married on December 4, 2014.
On Nasrin’s refusal, Sunny and his mother Nargis Akhter verbally abused her and left her, she alleged.
