“The Pakistan Cricket Board has launched its own investigation which has resulted in the suspension of three players.”
The arrests come after three players were suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board as part of its investigation into corruption in the Pakistan Super League.
“As part of the ongoing investigation we are working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board and International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption units,” the National Crime Agency said on Tuesday.
“Sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council said that the arrested men were former Pakistani batsman Nasir Jamshed and a person named Yousuf, who is a suspect in the PSL spot-fixing investigation,” the report said.

A brief press release from the governing body on Monday afternoon read: “PCB has provisionally suspended Nasir Jamshed from all forms of cricket for violating its anti-corruption code.”
Unlike Islamabad United pair Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif – suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board last week – or three other players since questioned, Jamshed is not taking part in the ongoing 2017 edition of the Twenty20 competition in Dubai.

This year’s PSL began last Thursday, only for revelations about possible match-fixing to emerge within 24 hours.

Jamshed, a 27-year-old opener who last played for Pakistan in 2015, was not selected in the PSL draft, while Sharjeel and Latif were playing for Islamabad United.
