Girls tennis state doubles tournament: Princeton’s Tan & Yang reach 2nd round

HAMILTON TWP — Princeton’s doubles duo of Caroline Tan & Denise Yang took care of business on Saturday afternoon at the NJSIAA doubles tournament.
Tan & Yang faced off versus Ramsey’s Kunjal Kapadia & Laney Darmiento & came away by a six-two, six-three, victory in the premier round at Veterans Park.
The residual rounds are scheduled for Mercer province Park in West Windsor, by the quarterfinal round Oct. 14, the semifinal round Oct. 15 & the last Oct. 21.

Tigers lead SWC girls tennis tourney out of doubles matches, Redbirds have solid premier day

EDWARDSVILLE – Edwardsville won two of 3 titles Friday & finished 2nd in the other as the Tigers took the lead out of Friday’s doubles matches of the Southwestern Conference Girls Tennis Championship at the EHS Tennis Center.

Hamilton defeated Mady Schrieber/Chloe Trimpe seven-six, six-two to take the championship, When Alton’s Maddie Saenz/Nikki Lowe defeated the Warriors’ O. Brinker/E.

North rides doubles teams to first NIC-ten tennis title

Edwardsville head girls tennis coach Dave Lipe said he was truly pleased by the premier day of competition & said the Southwestern Conference this year is very competitive.
“I believe the Southwestern Conference is within the highest 5 conferences in Illinois for girls tennis,” he said.
