This is not the first time De La Hoya has publicly toyed with the idea of coming out of retirement.
In June 2015, De La Hoya told ESPN he was considering a return to the ring.

In a left field pronouncement Oscar De La Hoya, a long since retired legend, declared that he had been training in secret and wanted one last fight against UFC star Conor McGregor of all people.
It’s not clear if De La Hoya is being entirely serious.
